
Two People are dead after a shooting in the parking lot of a factory in the Upstate, Wednesday morning. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded just before 7 AM Wednesday to the Timken Plant in Gaffney.

Upon arrival, deputies found a woman that had been shot multiple times. They also found a man suffering from what they believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Both people were transported to an area hospital and died from injuries suffered in the shooting. The Sheriff's Office says the victim and suspect knew each other and both were Timken employees.
The Cherokee County Coroner's Office has since identified the victim as 47-year-old Myra Davidson and the suspect as 55-year-old Dock Theodore Roosevelt Hopper.
He explained in a press release that, according to witnesses, Hopper approached Davidson in the parking lot after she arrived at the plant, drew a handgun, and shot Davidson multiple times before turning the gun on himself.
