Two people are dead after a structure fire in Western North Carolina. The Clarks Chapel Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Prentiss Bridge Road near Franklin, just after 6 PM Thursday night.
The Franklin and Otto Fire Departments and the Macon County EMS all responded to assist at the scene. The Macon County Fire Marshal's Office says two people were found dead inside the building. Officials say two vehicles and the building were all destroyed in the fire.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing. The cause of the fire has not been determined. The identities of the two victims have not been released, as of the time of this report.
