Two people were injured after a Western North Carolina plane crash over the weekend. Officials say a single engine private plane crash landed in a field near Roberts Lake Drive in Arden, just before 11AM Saturday.
The aircraft lost power, but the pilot was able to deploy a parachute system that significantly slows decent during an engine failure.
Two people were on the plane when it crashed, both suffered minor injuries and were taken to Mission Hospital for treatment. The crash is under investigation by the FAA and NTSB.
