Two men were arrested after a 6 hour standoff in the Upstate ended early Wednesday morning. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says deputies went to a home on North Shelby Street in Blacksburg Tuesday night to locate a fugitive.
When Deputies arrived, the suspect 29 year old Lewis Bradley Jones ran into the house, armed himself and threatened to shoot himself. The SWAT Team was called in, a woman and child were safely evacuated from the house. Jones and a 2nd suspect, 31 year old Shawn Brandon Martin remained inside.
The standoff ended around 4 AM Wednesday after the SWAT team deployed what the Sheriff's Office described as "chemical munitions". Both Jones and Martin were taken into custody.
