At least two drivers have been rescued from washed out roads in Anderson County Thursday. The continued rainfall has flooded roadways there and in other parts of the Upstate.
In one of the incidents, An Anderson County man was rescued from a rain-swollen creek that washed out a road near Piedmont early Thursday morning.
The Hopewell Fire Department rescuers got a call from the driver of a car that had been swamped by the water that overwhelmed Scotts Bridge Road about 6:00 a.m. He had escaped the flooded car, but was clinging to a tree when the firefighters arrived. They brought in a boat after several other rescue efforts failed. The man is reported to be uninjured.
