The Cherokee County Coroner's office reports two teens died in a collision just after midnight Monday. A vehicle driven by one of those teens, crossed the center line and struck another vehicle on Old Post Road about 20 minutes into the new year.
Gabriel Evan Allison and Ashley Blake Jones, both 18 from Gaffney died in the collision that the coroner's office said excessive speed played a role in.
Troopers say the driver of the other vehicle involved was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. The collision remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
