Two teenagers arrested following shooting that left two injured

Two teenage suspects are in custody following a shooting near Blacksburg, Tuesday morning. As we previously reported, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting that left two people injured on Highway 5 near Stetson Lane.

One suspect, a 16 year old was arrested Tuesday night and is in custody at the Department Of Juvenile Justice facility in Columbia. The other suspect , 18 year old Christopher Alan Smith was apprehended in York County, Wednesday night.

Both suspects face charges for attempted murder, armed robbery and a weapons violation. Investigators say, the original crime scene was near Caldwell Road and the victims were shot in a vehicle and drove to the Highway 5 location. Shell casings were found at the original scene.

The two victims were taken to the hospital, one is in critical condition and the other is in serious condition. Investigators believe the incident have happened after a drug deal went wrong.
