Two Upstate students hit by vehicles in 1st week of school

Just days into the start of the school year and two upstate students have been struck by vehicles, leaving one of those students with serious injuries.

Spartanburg District Two officials says a Boiling Springs High School student hit by a vehicle while walking home from school on Blalock Road near Old Furnace Road on Wednesday.  That student was treated at Spartanburg Regional and is expected to recover soon.

Another student in Anderson Count District One was seriously injured after a Wren Middle School student was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of Wren High School Tuesday. The incident that left the 11 year old boy with severe injuries is being a called tragic accident by the Anderson County Sheriff Office that is now acting as the lead agency for the investigation.

In a statement, Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride asked the community to pray for the young man and his family during this extremely difficult time. The statement also said the Sheriff's Office could not disclose any additional information at this point.
