
A mainstay in the U.S. House from the Upstate, says he will not being seeking re-election. 3rd District Congressman Jeff Duncan released a statement Wednesday announcing that he will not seek an 8th term in Congress.
Duncan was 1st elected to Congress in 2010 after he had served in the South Carolina State House since 2003. While a member of Congress, Duncan chaired three different committees. His Faith and Freedom BBQ fundraiser was touted as the state's largest annual gathering of conservatives.
Duncan's announcement comes just a few months after his wife filed for divorce alleging that he was unfaithful in their marriage. Duncan's statement did not mention what his future plans are following his exit from Congress.
