Firefighters responded to the scene of a predawn blaze in an industrial area of Greer. The fire broke out and an explosion was reported early Friday morning at Upstate Tool and Metal works.

The complex also houses Machine Builders USA. They share the address on Dry Pockets Road just off of South Batesville and Gibb Shoals Roads. No injuries have been reported from the fire, but the building is said to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
