An Upstate businessman and his wife were honored at a ribbon cutting Wednesday morning at an area college . Area automotive giant Jim Benson and his wife Evelyn were recognized at the ceremony held at Greenville Tech’s campus in Taylors. . The Bensons donated $2 million dollars to the school in 2014, on Wednesday the now complete Benson Amphitheatre and Pavilion was celebrated. State Senator Tom Corbin presented Jim Benson with a plaque of recognition
The Bensons have pledged to donate another million dollars and have for years sponsored scholarships to the school.
