A married couple from the Upstate are in custody on charges related to the death of a person under their care. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says 33 year old, Christian Lewis died at a home in Simpsonville this past October.
Lewis was under the care of 36 year old, Nicholas Perez and his wife 31 year old, Jessica Perez. The investigation determined that the couple did not provide necessary care or sanitary living conditions at the home.
The Sheriff's Office says Nicholas and Jessica Perez turned themselves in Tuesday morning on charges of neglect resulting in death.
