A volunteer fireman has been arrested for stealing thousands of dollars his own department. SLED reports, Allen D Marshall Jr, the captain and treasurer of the Donalds Volunteer Fire Department in Abbeville County, was arrested last week.
He is accused of forging checks and embezzling funds totaling less than $10,000. Arrest warrants said the crimes occurred between December of 2020 and July of 2021. Marshall faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
