An arrest has been made after a package containing a large shipment of drugs was seized at a shipping company in the Upstate. On April 30th, SLED intercepted a package in Spartanburg County that contained over 5 pounds of meth.
A joint investigation was then launched between SLED and the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office. That led to investigators identifying the suspect as 39 year old, Delvin Lamont Kennedy.
A search was then conducted of Kennedy's home in Moore. He hid in the attic trying to evade arrest. Neighbors were evacuated and SWAT was called in, Kennedy was then found and taken into custody.
Nearly 10 pounds of fentanyl were found at the home along with guns, a pill press and materials used to cut the drugs. Kennedy is charged with trafficking meth and fentanyl, manufacturing meth, burglary and multiple weapons violations.
