An Anderson County man is facing an attempted murder charge after he allegedly attacked a female co-worker. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a home on Wentzky Circle in Anderson, just after 7AM Tuesday. Deputies arrived and found a woman outside in a ditch who had been assaulted.
The victim suffered severe injuries and was taken to a hospital, where she is said to be in critical condition. The suspect 41 year old Joel Eldon Baesman has been taken into custody. Investigators say that Baesman and the victim were co-workers at a local grocery store.
The Sheriff's Office says they are still working to determine the circumstances behind the attack. No further details have been released, as of the time of this report.
