A former Clemson Professor accused of killing his wife at the couple Anderson County home has been released on bond. 79 year old, Edwin Brainerd Jr. was granted a bond of $50,000 after being charged with murder following the fatal shooting of his wife, last month.
The Sheriff's Office says Edwin and Sally Brainerd had been in a fight that escalated to the shooting. Investigators say Sally was shot in the back and when deputies arrived on scene, Edwin admitted to shooting her.
Brainerd will have to undergo psychiatric evaluation and will remain on house arrest as conditions of his bond.
