
After being convicted Friday, an Upstate man will spend the next 3 decades in prison for killing the mother of his children, five years ago. 24 year old, Tabatha Duncan was found stabbed to death at a home in Iva in March of 2018. Her two year old daughter was in the home at the time of the incident.
The Sheriff's Office said the scene was incredibly violent. Suspect, Adam Lawless was later arrested and charged with Duncan's murder. He pleaded not guilty but was convicted by a jury and sentenced to a mandatory minimum of 30 years.
10th Circuit Solicitor David Wagner said " I appluad the members of the jury for their decision to hold the defendant accountable. I am grateful for the efforts of SLED and Assistant Solicitor Kristin Reeves in making sure this criminal was brought to justice."
In addition to the victim being stabbed multiple times, investigators say her body showed signs of strangulation.
