An Upstate man is dead after being hit by a dump truck , over the weekend. The Greenville County Coroner's Office has identified the man as 53 year old, Daniel Darrel Howes of Greenville.

The Coroner's Report says Howes was towing a dump truck with a Ford F-250 when the tow chain snapped, as the truck turned into a driveway on Lawton Road in Greenville.
Howes had already exited the truck and was hit by the dump truck as it rolled down hill after the tow chain snapped. The incident happened just after 3 PM Saturday, Howes was pronounced dead about an hour later at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
