Upstate man sentenced after DUI crash that left victim injured

A Spartanburg man is set to spend the next 15 years behind bars after a hit and run, earlier this year. the 7th Circuit Solicitor's Office says 60 year old, Jameel Naadir pleaded guilty Monday to charges of Felony DUI Causing Injury and Hit and Run Causing Injury.

Nadir was given two 15-year sentences set to run concurrently and was fined over $10,000. Court records say that in February of this year, Naadir was driving on Fairforest Road in Spartanburg when he hit a pedestrian. The victim suffered broken bones and Naadir fled the scene in his vehicle.

He then ran a red light and hit a trailer being towed by another vehicle. The Highway Patrol says Naadir's blood alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit.

He has a lengthy criminal history including felony convictions here in South Carolina and New Jersey.
