A Spartanburg man will spend a dozen years behind bars for trying to rob at an Upstate gas station, while armed with a gun. The 7th Circuit Solicitor's Office says 38 year old, David Solomon Jackson entered guilty pleas Wednesday to charged of attempted armed robbery and multiple weapons violations.

The charges stem from an incident in 2022 at the QT store on West Main Street in Spartanburg. Court records say Jackson pulled a gun and fired shots inside the store. He could not gain access to the cash drawers and as he went outside, Jackson dropped the gun near the gas pumps.

He was sentenced to 12 years for the attempted armed robbery charge and got a total of 15 additional years for the weapons violations, however those sentences are set to run concurrently.
