A Greenwood man who reportedly confessed to having drugs in a back-pack will spend more than 15 years behind bars. 34 year old Leslie Alexander Barger pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in court, Thursday afternoon.

Court records show that the charges stem from an incident in the summer of 2022 when Barger was wearing a back-pack and walked up to a house in Greenwood while a search warrant was being executed.

Investigators say that, when Barger was asked what was in the backpack, he said "Drugs, a lot of 'em". The Greenwood County Sheriff's Office found over 7 ounces of heroin, more than 10 ounces of meth and nearly a pound of marijuana.

Barger entered guilty pleas to trafficking meth and heroin and 3rd degree burglary. He has been sentenced to 18 years in the state prison system.
