
An Upstate man was taken into custody after a stand off with police Wednesday. The Greenville Police Department says they responded to a reported domestic assault at a house on Cammer Avenue in Greenville, about 5 PM Wednesday.

Police say, the suspect 36 year old Chad Chapman refused to come out of the home. The SWAT Team was called in, they entered the home and took him into custody. Police say, the victim escaped from the home and went to a neighboring house to get help.
Chapman was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the incident. Police say, Chapman hasn't been formally charged from the incident yet, but does have an active arrest warrant on a charge of 1st degree domestic violence.
