The Upstate's largest health system experiencing is reporting a "glitch" in communication. Prisma Health announced Tuesday that some of its technology systems are experiencing connectivity issues.
Unlike AnMed’s recent cyberattack, Prisma officials say there is no indication the issues are connected to a cybersecurity incident. AnMed fell victim to a group of hackers who reportedly stole patient information and records and has asked for a ransom payment to delete the stolen info.
In a statement, Prisma said its top priority remains patient safety and continuity of care. Officials are actively managing the situation and working to restore functionality to the impacted Prisma systems.
