Upstate teen dies after crash during chase with deputies

A teenage girl from the Upstate is dead after a motorcycle crash, over the weekend. The wreck happened on Sheep Farm Road in Seneca just before 11:30, Saturday night.

The Coroner's Office says the motorcyclist led Oconee County Deputies on a chase after they attempted a traffic stop on Clemson Boulevard. The motorcyclist identified as 16 year old, Olivia Morgan Sanchez ran off the road, hit a bank and a tree.

She was taken to Oconee Memorial, where she died from her injuries, Sunday night. Officials say Sanchez was a student at Laurens High School and was the only person on the motorcycle.

There's been no further details released at this time and the crash remains under investigation.
