A 19 year old Union County man is facing kidnapping and assault charges following a traffic stop. Deputies say they received a report Thursday of an active disturbance involving a moving vehicle on North Duncan Bypass.
The vehicle was later stopped for a lighting violation, and investigators say several people were inside, including 19-year-old Ty'Jhir Romell Fleming.
After speaking with the occupants, deputies arrested Fleming and charged him with first-degree assault and battery and kidnapping. Fleming was denied bond on the assault and battery charge and remains in custody awaiting a bond hearing on the kidnapping charge.
