A shooting in the Upstate over the weekend leaves one dead.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded early Sunday morning around 2:20am to a Simpsonville house on Lake Lennox Drive, where a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man, identified as 30-year-old Orenthia James Tomkins Jr, was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead just after 3am.
According to deputies, a person of interest has been detained, but no further details have yet been released.
