"Vote Local" election results from around the Upstate

Many elected positions at the local level were on the ballot in Upstate counties on Tuesday. In Greenville County, a long standing incumbent was defeated by an upstart challenger. Many County Council races were also decided around the area. Below are unofficial results from various Upstate Counties.

Greenville County

In the race for Probate Judge, Republican challenger Chad Groover knocked off stalwart incumbent Debora Faulkner. Groover took 60% of the vote and beat Faulkner by 20% of the total vote.

13th Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins ran unopposed. In the District 17 County Council race Joey Russo won in landslide fashion. Russo took 75% of the vote over Sheryl Guarniero.

Benton Blount ran unopposed for the County Council's District 19 seat. He defeated incumbent Willis Meadows in the Republican Primary , back during the summer.

In District 23, Democrat Alan Mitchell won the County Council seat handily defeating Republican Ben Carper, taking over 60% of the vote. In District 26, Rick Bradley was unopposed, incumbent Dan Tripp was unopposed in District 28. Scott Case was unopposed in the Auditor's race, as was Al Hodges in the County Treasurer race.

Spartanburg County

Ann Marie Middleton won the District 18 School Board seat, taking a tight race over Patrick Sudduth.

Probate Judge Ponda Caldwell ran unopposed, Sharon West was unopposed for Auditor, as was Oren Brady III for County Treasurer.

Manning Lynch, Jack Mabry, Jessica Coker and Bob Walker all ran unopposed for seats on the Spartanburg County Council.

Anderson County

District 2 County Council race, Democrat Glenn Davis won over Republican David Standard. Former Anderson County Sheriff's Office PIO JT Foster ran unopposed for Probate Judge.

Cindy Wilson won the County Council District 7 seat with a landslide win over Mark Powell.

Pickens County

Claiborne Linville defeated Brad White for County Council District 1 seat.
David Allison was unopposed for Probate Judge. Chris Lollis ran unopposed for the County Council District 2 seat.

Oconee County
Danny Singleton ran unopposed for Probate Judge. Incumbent John Elliott was unopposed in the County Council District 1 race, as was Don Mize in District 3.
