Wanted Burglary Suspect Uses Hammer To Get Inside Store

Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to an alarm call at the Countryside Exxon in Seneca, February 28th. After reviewing video, an Investigator with the Property Crimes Unit determined a white male used a hammer to to gain access into the convenience store through the front door.

The suspect stole about $830.00 in merchandise...  vape products, cigarettes and cigars.

PRESS RELEASE: (Walhalla, SC) The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in an investigation into a burglary and larceny that occurred in late February at a convenience store in the Tokeena Crossroads community.

The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in the investigation.

During the early morning of Friday, February 28th, Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to the Countryside Exxon #1 due to an alarm call. Upon arrival, Deputies made entry into the business and began the process of gathering evidence.

The investigation was turned over to an Investigator with the Property Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Bureau. According to video obtained from the business, a white male is observed using a hammer to make entry into the business via the front door.

Once inside, the male is observed placing items into his pockets and also into a black bag. Among the items stolen were vape products, cigarettes and cigars. The total amount of merchandise taken was approximately $830.00. The male then exited the store and ran away from the store in the direction of Seneca.
