As of 8 AM Wednesday morning Greenville Police, firefighters and public works crews were on the scene of a water main break at North Markley and Rhett Streets. Roadways were flooded and it caused a large sinkhole at the intersection. Wardlaw Street is closed. Academy Street is closed in both directions near the intersection of North Markley. Commuters are asked to avoid the area, as debris from the railyard has washed into the streets. Authorities are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.
