An investigation is ongoing after a weekend shootout in Western North Carolina. The Asheville Police Department responded to a call of shots fired near Lee Garden Lane, around 4:30 AM Sunday. Officials say a car was seen speeding away from the area. That car was later located at Mission Hospital and had been damaged from gunfire.
A passenger was also found inside the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated for what were described as minor injuries. Investigators were able to trace the location of the original call. There they found numerous shell casings and two vehicles that had gunfire damaged.
There's been no arrests announced, as of this time and the shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Asheville Police Department.
