Three people are dead after a shooting incident that started in Cherokee County ended with a crash in North Carolina. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired in Blacksburg just before 1AM , Sunday morning.
A 911 call came in from a victim that was driving a Dodge Charger who said that someone in a white pickup truck was chasing them and had shot at their car. The victim kept driving and crossed into North Carolina with the suspect vehicle still following them.
The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office then got involved and attempted to intervene. A Deputy spotted the chase and tried to stop the suspect vehicle. The driver of the truck fled by running a red light.
The Deputy lost sight of the truck but it was later found after it crashed into a home in Shelby, North Carolina. The 3 victims in the wreck were said to be 18 and 20 years old.
Three others were said to be inside the vehicle and were injured in the crash. There's been no arrests announced stemming from the incident and no word has been given on what led to the shots fired and subsequent case. The identities of three killed in the crash have not yet been released.
