Do you believe the U.S. will be in worse condition in five years, than it is today?

Former President Jimmy Carter once said in a speech " For the first time in the history of our country a majority of our people believe that the next five years will be worse than the past five years". With what we have seen in the past year it made me think about how the future will look? The country has dealt with and/or is dealing with a pandemic, food shortages, rising fuel costs and inflation.
