Weekend traffic stop in WNC results in drug trafficking arrests

A weekend traffic stop in Western North Carolina lead to the arrest of two suspects on drug charges, both new and old. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office says deputies searched the vehicle during the stop and found more than 11 grams of meth and just over 3 grams of fentanyl.

Both suspects, 37 year old Joshua Ryan Hunnicut and 31 year old, Megan Richelle Pruett both had multiple outstanding warrants stemming from charges back in April, of this year.


Hunnicut and Pruett are being held on both the outstanding and new charges from the traffic stop, those include trafficking meth and fentanyl, and possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, meth and heroin among other charges.

Hunnicut was given a bond of nearly $300,000 , Pruett's bond is set at $130,000. Both suspects are being held in Buncombe County.
