A woman is dead after a house fire in the Upstate Wednesday) morning. Firefighters were dispatched to a home in Gaffney around 7:15 AM. Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says, upon arrival firefighters found a woman in the hallway of the home. Life saving efforts were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two male victim were able to escape the home. One of them was airlifted to the August Burn Center for treatment. An autopsy is set to be performed on the deceased victim, as part of the investigation by the Cherokee County Coroner's Office.
As of the time of this report, The Coroner's Office has not released the identity of the deceased.
