Oconee County authorities say a woman who had called 9-1-1 reporting her house on fire late Monday night, did not survive the flames. The call came in just before 11:15 PM.
Firefighters in the Mountain Rest community say the house on Ross Mountain Road was "fully involved" when they got there. They found the woman's body in the aftermath of the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this point and the coroner has not yet released the victim's identity.
