While former president Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial continues, his wife is getting back to business.
Melania Trump announced the opening of her post-White House office in a tweet from her new Twitter account, reported The Hill.
“Mrs. Melania Trump is announcing the opening of The Office of Melania Trump. Please follow this account for news and updates,” read the tweet.
The 50-year-old then retweeted the announcement from her personal account. Her social media activity comes as the former president remains permanently banned from the platform.
Melania has kept a relatively low-profile since leaving Washington, D.C. last month and returning to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
The news of the office comes just weeks after it was reported Melania had hired three of her former White House staff members.
The three staffers include Hayley D'Antuono, who served four years as the former first lady's director of operations and trip supervisor, Mary "Casey" Finzer, who was a low-level staff assistant in the East Wing office, and Marcia Kelly, who served as an unpaid senior adviser to Trump.
CNN previously reported the office was expected to function out of Trump's members-only club while Melania looked for separate space around Palm Beach.
It’s expected the Office of Melania Trump will continue working on the former first lady’s “Be Best” campaign, a broad, three-pillared initiative consisting of children's health and well-being, online safety, and cyberbullying prevention.
On Saturday, Trump’s second impeachment trial continued for a fifth day as the Senate voted to consider hearing witnesses, a surprise move that could delay the final vote on whether the former president incited the deadly Capitol insurrection.
