Although polls won't open for a few more weeks, the 2020 election has already set a record. This year's ballots will feature more gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender candidates than ever before, the LGBTQ Victory Fund reports. At least 1,006 members of the LGBTQ community have announced their candidacy for various offices, a stark increase from the 716 who ran in the 2018 midterms, according to the Victory Fund.
