(Walhalla, SC) The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man yesterday on multiple charges in relation to a Wednesday morning pursuit that began in the Tamassee area and ended near Foxwood Hills.
36 year old Daniel Loyd Morrison of Wells Highway was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:01pm. Morrison has been charged with Failure to stop for a Blue Light, Reckless Driving, Driving under Suspension and Threatening the Life of a Public Official. At this time, Morrison remains in custody at the Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

The Traffic Enforcement Officer from the P.A.C.E. (Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement) Team observed a black Subaru on N. Highway 11 near Bumgardner Drive in the Tamassee area traveling at a high rate of speed around 10:39am yesterday. The deputy initiated a traffic stop; however, the driver of the Subaru did not pull over. The Subaru was occupied by a male driver, identified as Morrison, and a female passenger.
Additional deputies joined in the pursuit as the pursuit continued south on Highway 11. Besides driving at a high rate of speed, the deputy observed the vehicle pass other vehicles on a double yellow line as well as driving in the opposite lane of travel.
Deputies deployed stop sticks during the course of the pursuit in an attempt to bring the pursuit to a conclusion. The Subaru did run over some stop sticks on Highway 11 near Highway 24. The Subaru eventually turned from Highway 11 onto Blackjack Road and then turned right onto Jos Place where the pursuit came to an end in the southern part of Oconee County.
Morrison was taken into custody as dispatch informed the deputy that Morrison had a suspended driver’s license. According to the arrest warrant obtained by deputies, Morrison made a threat of bodily harm against a deputy of the Sheriff’s Office.
