Wednesday's House of Representative vote to impeach the President drew an uncharacteristically bipartisan response from the South Carolina delegation.
In Wednesday's US House vote for impeachment of President Trump, South Carolina GOP Representatives William Timmons, Jeff Duncan, Ralph Norman, Joe Wilson and Nancy Mace voted no, while the lone Democrat in the Palmetto State delegation Jim Clyburn was joined by one Republican in voting for impeachment.
U.S. Rep. Tom Rice of South Carolina was one of only 10 House Republicans to join with Democrats in voting to impeach President Donald Trump, a stunning reversal from his position just days earlier.
I have backed this President through thick and thin for four years. I campaigned for him and voted for him twice. But, this utter failure is inexcusable.https://t.co/SCWylYEER0

Third District Congressman Jeff Duncan, who voted no on the second impeachment of President Trump, joined 106.3 WORD on the Tara Show Thursday morning to discuss the impeachment yesterday. You can listen to the full interview here.
Following the vote in the house to impeach President Trump for a second time, Senator Lindsey Graham tweeted that he believes impeachment is the wrong course of action.
He also asked President-elect Biden to reject impeachment following Trump's Wednesday evening comments.
Other SC Republicans, such as Congressman William Timmons, also voted against impeachment, claiming that it would divide the country.
SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick also released a statement following the impeachment, stating that "Trying to impeach the President with just a week left in his term is nothing more than a political stunt. It will do nothing but harm the country and our Party. We completely disagree with this sham and to say I'm severely disappointed in Congressman Tom Rice would be an understatement."
