Anderson, S.C. – Congresswoman Sheri Biggs (R-SC-03) today announced that the deadline for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition has been extended to May 1, 2026, giving high school students across South Carolina’s Third District additional time to submit their artwork for consideration.

Originally set for April 24, the extended deadline allows more students the opportunity to participate in the annual competition, which offers young artists the chance to have their work displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

“With this extended deadline, more students will have the opportunity to take part in this historic celebration,” said Congresswoman Biggs. “I encourage all talented young artists across the Third District to take advantage of this additional time and submit their work for a chance to be recognized on a national stage.”

The competition is open to all high school students (grades 9-12) in the Third District. Submissions must now be delivered to Congresswoman Biggs’ office by May 1, 2026. For guidelines, students and teachers may contact the office at (864) 224-7401 or visit sheribiggs.house.gov/services/art-competition.
