Three college students from the Low Country have their sights set on seats in the State House. 20 year old, Stephen Hilton a Senior at the University Of South Carolina is seeking the 112th district seat on Charleston County.
20 year old Sydney Clinton is a Junior at South Carolina who's looking to unseat incumbent Chris Murphy in Dorchester County. 21 year old, Ryan Thompson who's set to graduate from College Of Charleston this month is looking to win the seat in Horry County, that's being vacated by Russell Fry.
Two of the three are already 21 , which is the minimum age to seek state level election. Clinton will turn 21 prior to election day which makes her eligible. All three are running as Democrats, Hilton will take on incumbent Joe Bustos who's over 50 years older than him, in the primary.
Clinton and Thompson do not face primary challengers and will proceed to the general election for the seats in their respective districts.
