A new study conducted by Plusnet shows that 87 percent of millennials turn to Google for help with basic household tasks like changing a lightbulb, tightening a loose screw or putting up wallpaper. And if they don't use Google or aren't satisfied with the answer they get from the search engine, three in 10 will use social media for help with such rudimentary tasks. For its part, Plusnet spokesperson Nick Silverwood put a positive spin on the "incredibly surprising" results, telling The Daily Mail, "Social media overtaking word of mouth for tradespeople recommendations is a big moment and a fantastic opportunity for tradespeople and all independent businesses to take advantage of social media."
