On Tuesday, Vice President Mike Pence announced that a group of major health-insurance companies had agreed to waive co-payments for patients who get tested for coronavirus. Pence--who was flanked by representatives from UnitedHealth Group, Anthem, Cigna, Humana, Aetna, and Blue Cross-Blue Shield--told reporters, "All the insurance companies here, either today, or before today, have agreed to waive all co-pays on coronavirus testing, and extend coverage for coronavirus treatment in all of their benefit plans." Matt Eyles, CEO of the trade group America's Health Insurance Plans, followed up by saying, "We all have the same commitment to making sure that cost is not a barrier to people getting tested and treated."
