"Hey guys! This topic has been a point of contention in my and my wife's lives ever since we moved into our new house back in October. A little context for you...we have a one car garage with a very small driveway and parking on the street isn't allowed. I've always tried to do the chivalrous thing and give her the garage in the previous places we've lived, but none of those situations were as inconvenient for me as this one. Let me explain...we have very different work schedules and my wife gets up a lot earlier to go to work than I do. Which means I also have to get up early to go move my car so she can get out of the garage in the morning. It's been months of this and it was starting to wear on me, so I asked her if we could just switch and I could put my car in the garage. That did NOT go over well. She flipped out and told me that I'm the husband and that means I don't get the garage, especially in the winter because she doesn't want to have to get up any earlier to brush off her car if it's snowing. I was a little taken aback by this because my wife is a very independent woman who is always preaching about equality, but now that it benefits her, apparently these gender roles are coming back into play. I backed down because I'm slightly terrified of her, but I still think it's savage. Do you guys agree?"
