So I recently bought some individual knife sets for myself to use in the kitchen, mind you they're rather expensive and they require a lot of maintenance in order to keep nice. I simply explained to my wife at this is one of the few things that's absolutely mine and nobody else can use my knives because they're nice... I don't get to have many nice things and if I break them I prefer I be the one to do it instead of anybody else. She pulls out the phrase what's mine is yours turns it around on me AKA gaslights and somehow I'm in the wrong because something of mine I don't want other people to use.
