Officials are at a loss for who put the duck there and no one is coming forward claiming responsibility. Harbor Master Katherine Given said the duck isn't posing a navigational hazard, so there's no rush to remove it.

"Everybody loves it," Given told the Bangor Daily News. "I have no idea who owns it, but it kind of fits Belfast. A lot of people want to keep it here."

While some are waiting for the peaceful prankster to step forward and claim the duck, others are just enjoying the bit of happiness it brings.

The duck has become somewhat of a tourist attraction in town, with people stopping to snap photos and get up close and personal with the mysterious visitor.
