The novel coronavirus has affected businesses and economies around the world. The hardest hit industries are obviously live music and dining.
Businesses are now looking for ways to keep customers engaged until they can begin to open their doors to full capacity again. Burger King Germany has decided that they would "launch" these 'social distancing' crowns to encourage people to not only eat at their stores, but also adhere to distance guidelines.
According to Business Insider, a Burger King rep told them the crowns are "a fun and playful way to remind our guests to practice social distancing while they are enjoying food in the restaurants."
The chain has also rolled out the 'social distance' Whopper in Italy, which has three times the normal amount of onions on it. (I think I like the crowns better!)
