AMC Theaters Announce Reopening Plans Including Reduced Ticket Prices

For most people, It has been months since they’ve seen a movie in theaters, as the majority have remained closed due to the coronavirus. Now, one of the biggest theater chains has announced plans to reopen this month. AMC Theaters plans to reopen a number of locations by August 20th, and announced a special reduction in ticket pricing to coincide with their return.

In the announcement, AMC said they plan to have approximately two-thirds of its U.S. locations by September 3, with over 100 locations opening this month, including several in Texas. “We are thrilled to once again open our doors to American moviegoers who are looking for an opportunity to get out of their houses and apartments and escape into the magic of the movies,” said Adam Aron, CEO and President of AMC Theatres.

To celebrate the return, along with 100 years of movies, AMC plans to lower ticket prices to that of the 1920’s, charging 15 cents a ticket. The Texas locations opening this month include; AMC Parks At Arlington 18, AMC NorthPark 15, AMC Grapevine Mills 30, AMC Stonebriar Mall 24, AMC Firewheel Town Center 18, AMC Mesquite 30 and AMC Irving Mall 14. Soon enough moviegoers will be back to enjoying new films on the big screen.
