Many industries are currently working remotely, with business being conducted over the internet. Thanks to video conferencing apps such as Zoom, business has been able to continue for many employees, but the technology has led to a few embarrassing moments for many workers. This is no different for the supreme court, where recently during a live call listeners heard the sound of a toilet flushing during oral arguments.
The Supreme Court made history this week when they held arguments over the phone due to the coronavirus. The public was able to listen in to the arguments in real time, but many were distracted when the audible sound of a toilet flush took over the call. The flush occurred during a case involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
It is unknown who the source of the flush was, but the moment quickly went viral. Luckily, those involved in the case didn’t seem too distracted and moved forward making their arguments. While many industries are dealing with the new normal, moments like this make all the changes doable.
