Since Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Night’ trilogy ended in 2012, there have been a number of attempts to reboot Batman. With hype building once again for the latest attempt, one big name actor is claiming he was turned down for a role in the film. Dave Bautista revealed recently that he tried getting the role of Bane in ‘The Batman,’ but failed.
Responding to a fan’s tweet about rumors he was going to play the Batman villain, Bane, Dave Bautista said, “Unfortunately it’s not. Tried my best.” Many fans were upset about this, as Bautista seemed like a natural fit for the role to many. It is unknown if another actor will be playing Bane, or if the character will even be in the upcoming Matt Reeves film.
Not much is known about ‘The Batman,’ other than it stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, along with Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Real, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as Penguin. Maybe Bautista can claim the role later, if the film is successful enough to have a sequel.
